Repost from Alliance for Free Citizens.
The Alliance For Free Citizens, a national organization dedicated to restoring constitutional principles, today denounced the advisory issued on Monday by the Department of Homeland Security, which warned the public about news the agency said may be “misleading or misinformation.”
“This so-called ‘advisory’ is more than a slap in the face to Americans, it is a prison shank in the side of the U.S. Constitution,” said Joshua Pratt, Executive Director of the Alliance. “This bellicosity from the federal government is reminiscent of the totalitarian regimes of the past. This current administration has dusted off the play book of tyrants from the dirt heap of history to propagate an unreasonable fear in the masses and to create a crisis that only they can solve.”
“What is clear from this advisory is that anyone who criticizes the government is a threat. This is obscene,” continued Pratt. “As American citizens we have the absolute right to hold government accountable and to oppose the government when it runs amuck. To contend otherwise is itself a violation of constitutional rights and should be investigated as a high crime.”
This National Terrorism Advisory Bulletin makes the unsubstantiated assertion that the nation is in a “heightened threat environment.” Most concerning to the Alliance is the subsequent quote from the document:
“…the following factors has increased the volatility, unpredictability, and complexity of the threat environment: (1) the proliferation of false or misleading narratives, which sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S. government institutions;”
Public trust in the U.S. government is at an all-time low, not because of broadcasted “opinions” and “misleading narratives,” but by the performance and policies of the ruling class in government. In May 2021, the Pew Reseach Center stated, “Public trust in government remains low. Only about one-quarter of Americans say they can trust the government in Washington to do what is right ‘just about always’ (2%) or ‘most of the time’ (22%).”
“Americans already have a distrust of government. The opinion of DHS that ‘misleading narratives’ can ‘undermine public trust in the U.S. government’ is a misdirected opinion and frankly the opinion of swamp monsters of the Deep State who feel ‘threatened’ by moms standing up for the children at school board meetings, poll watchers observing elections, and alternative media that shines light into their darkness,” Pratt said.
“This advisory is more yammering of the National Socialist propaganda machine. Propaganda we can handle; it is just talk, it’s politics, it is opinion, but to weaponize the federal government against American citizens who hold different views than those who currently occupy the seat of power is an outright ‘Brown Shirt’ attack on civil liberties and the United States Constitution. These actions by the DHS are vile and the people who are peddling this false flag of imminent danger are borderline criminal,” said Pratt.
“We cannot allow this type of dictatorial policy statement to stand. The Alliance will be working with state and federal elected officials to find out exactly who is responsible for this politically-motivated insult to the American people and seek the harshest recourse possible,” concluded Pratt.
