Political outsider, successful business leader, and Republican nominee for governor Glenn Youngkin today announced that he had received the endorsement of the Fraternal Order of Police of Virginia. The Fraternal Order of Police of Virginia has over 6,600 members of law enforcement.
“I am honored to have the support of the Fraternal Order of Police, and look forward to working closely with them and the rest of Virginia’s law enforcement community to make Virginia’s neighborhoods among the safest in the nation, not the most dangerous,” said Glenn Youngkin. “Terry McAuliffe has turned his back on law enforcement and embraced the most radical elements of his party that want to defund the police, abolish ICE, and close prisons.”
“On behalf of the 6,618 members of the Fraternal Order of Police of Virginia, we firmly endorse Glenn Youngkin for Governor of Virginia. Mr. Youngkin is the only gubernatorial candidate to sit down with the Fraternal Order of Police and outline his goals as governor. Mr. Youngkin expressed his commitment to keeping the citizens of the commonwealth of Virginia safe. He has a positive outlook for law enforcement and how we will effectively function in the future”, said Fraternal Order of Police President, John H. Ohrnberger.
The endorsement comes shortly after Terry McAuliffe lashed out and attacked Montgomery Sheriff, Hank Partin, when he asked McAuliffe about his support for ending qualified immunity and his endorsement by the New Virginia Majority, which supports defunding the police.
McAuliffe has even refused to meet with police organizations, such as the Virginia Police Benevolent Association.
And in 2017, the Virginia Sheriffs’ Association accused Gov. Terry McAuliffe of canceling a budget meeting in retaliation against sheriffs who had endorsed Republican Ed Gillespie for governor.
Since, sheriffs have warned a McAuliffe victory would trigger ‘Scary’ Police mass retirements. “Lord, help us,” Amherst County Sheriff E.W. Viar said. “That’s scary. That’s really scary.”
The murder rate increased 43% under Terry McAuliffe, Virginia’s murder rate currently sits at a 20-year high, and four of America’s deadliest cities are here in Virginia.
Youngkin has previously received endorsements from numerous other law enforcement groups, including:

- Virginia Law Enforcement Sheriff’s Association
- Virginia Police Benevolent Association
- 50 Sheriffs from throughout the Commonwealth
Failed leadership by liberal, one-party control in Richmond has made a number of Virginia’s cities among the most dangerous in the country.
